3 Non-conventional Ways I’ve Been Supporting My Post-Surgery Healing Journey

Date

It’s now been 6 weeks since my spine surgery and recovery has definitely NOT been linear!

On top of the obvious physio and movement therapy, these three things have aided my healing. I hope these may help someone else who is facing surgery/c-section:

1. Journalling (and a few therapy sessions) – for me, this is my fifth major surgery in 7 years and it has stoked up a lot of bog and complex emotions. Finding an outlet to help process them has been essential.

2. Massage – I’ve been experiencing so many random aches and pains and massage has been one of the things that has really helped. I’ve been obsessed with using Moringa Project Thailand body oil (Dawn) as it smells like a dream, works a treat, and is packed full of moringa anti-oxidant goodness that I’m absolutely obsessed with. 3. Silicone Scar Tape – this is a big one for me. I have so many scars all over my body, but this is the first one I have where I can be proactive in its healing recovery from the outset. It’s best to use tape applied for up to 12 hours every 24 hours for up to 6 weeks on new scars and up to 16 weeks on old scars.

If you have any other tips that have been an essential part of your healing journey, please share them in the comments below.

Much love, Anna 🧡
